Info
Meet Leslie Nagel (1988), the artist behind sculptures that rattle, flutter, and bounce. Working from her studio in The Hague’s Maakhaven, Leslie creates kinetic art embodying the dynamic interplay of action and reaction, reflection and response. Fascinated by the impact of materials, Leslie believes that these internal movements can evoke deep emotions. For example the squeak of polystyrene can send shivers down your spine, while the crackling of foil can produce a pleasant sound. These sensations truly come to life when the materials are set in motion. Her creations flutter, sway, rock, vibrate, rustle, clap, or buzz. By working closely with the materials, she crafts visual and tactile experiences that stimulate the senses, creating playful and imaginative spaces.
